1: Take your photos during dusk or dawn

Maybe you’ve heard JVKE’s song, “Golden Hour.” Well, play that song while you admire the golden hour, which by the way is beautiful here in Florida most nights. Enjoy the Golden Hour one hour after sunrise or before sunset. If you notice, the light is much softer and it is easier for your camera to capture the perfect shot. This is when you want fill That reel with images of the moon and choose your favorite! Golden hour helps your phone have much less contrast, allowing for better shots.

2: Overexposure kills the shot; instead, underexpose it!

You generally want to use the lowest ISO setting because here in Florida and other parts of the country, the moon is very bright in the night sky!

If you do not use an application (such as Night camera), you can always adjust the exposure settings yourself. When photographing the moon, Aim for longer exposures.. The faster the shutter speed, the more light you can capture.

3. Use a tripod for your phone

The moon is moving at a faster pace than the last time you got a speeding ticket…whew, it’s fast! This means it can be quite difficult to capture if you don’t hold your ground! Please note that the path and movement of the moon may affect the shot. There are better times of day to photograph the moon than others, and it all depends on the weather. If it is a cloudy or rainy day or even a day that is too bright, the moon may be more difficult to capture. When we went to photograph, it was an absolutely beautiful day!

A tripod will also give you that still pose and capture the perfect photo! When my web producer and I go out to take the photo, we make sure Stabilize the camera on the tripod. and used his stopwatch, which can be found on a watch or phone, to take the photo.

Also, if you have a pair of binoculars lying around, we try to place your camera close to the lenses! This is great for a zoomed in shot. Yeah You can get the binoculars to focus with the camera. We tried, but my hand wasn’t steady enough. I couldn’t concentrate, but if you can, share your photo with me!

4. Phone settings

Before you go out and take a million pictures of the moon, make sure you try different configurations on your phone and play with the exposure. There are many levels of exposure and we tried many of them. The best part is that when you hit the right exposure level based on the weather, it will come into focus and be very obvious.

5. Turn off that flash!

A camera flash looks great when you’re out and about with friends or posing for that Olan Mills family photo, because you’re close to the camera! If you’re far from the camera, like thousands and thousands of miles away (hence the moon), turn off the flash.
