As a reminder, Ben and Jen Garner got married in 2005 and announced their separation in 2015. In the decade they were together, they welcomed three children: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, who is about to turn 12.
Meanwhile, J.Lo is also mother to 15-year-old twins Emme and Max, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
Then, shortly after Ben and J.Lo got married in July 2022The singer gave insight into the life of a new family of seven.
“We moved in together. The kids moved in together,” she said while appearing on Today. “It’s been kind of an emotional transition, but at the same time all your dreams have come true.”
Since then, J.Lo has also spoken about the chaos of parenting.almost five teenagers” with her husband.
“The youngest is 11, so he’s not quite (a teenager), but a pre-teen,” he said during an appearance on Lives with Kelly and Mark. “The teenage years are difficult. They start challenging you and everything. You have this baby for a while and then she’s like your best little friend who loves to be with you all the time, and all of a sudden she’s like, ‘Get out of my room.’”
And while it seems like Ben and J.Lo are thriving in their busy new living situation, it’s also become apparent that Ben’s friendly relationship with his ex has made it easier for him to be a part of the fun, too.
For example, as recently as Sunday, J.Lo, Ben and Jen enjoyed a family night at a school musical performance. They were joined by Seraphina, Samuel and Emme, and they looked as smiling as ever as they left the place.
Now, following their recent family outing, insiders are sharing more information about their co-parenting dynamic, revealing that the trio is always on the same page when it comes to their children.
“Jennifer, Jen and Ben have had a great relationship for quite some time,” a source said. Us weekly on Tuesday. “They know there will be many times when they will all attend the same events together, whether it be school presentations, sports, etc.”
The source shared that they “communicate quite frequently” when it comes to the kids and their schedules.
“They know that those who benefit the most are the children and that is the only thing that matters to them,” the source said. “They respect each other as parents and know how well their children get along. “They want to foster and nurture those relationships and will do whatever it takes to show their support.”
Speaking specifically about Ben and Jen, the source also made it clear that “anything that’s happened in the past is a thing of the past,” and described their co-parenting relationship as “a copacetic situation all around.”
However, despite their friendly bond, Jen admitted last year that she makes a conscious effort to avoid news about the two of them.
“I really work hard not to see either of us in the press,” she told Stellar magazine last April. “It doesn’t make me feel good, even if it’s something nice about one of us… I don’t need to see anyone in my family turned into a meme.”
