When asked about Aamir’s special appearance in Laapataa Ladies, Kiran admitted that she and Aamir had a big argument over whether he should play the character of Manohar, played by Ravi Kishan. She revealed that Aamir had auditioned for the role and was really good. But when Kiran showed him Ravi Kishan’s audition tape, Aamir agreed that Kishan was better suited for the role.
“I feel like he (Kishan) brings a complete surprise to this character because you don’t know what to expect from him. When Aamir is in a role, he sort of sets expectations for his character. Aamir was very involved in that decision that Ravi can do this better and maybe ‘wouldn’t do it full justice,'” Kiran told The Week.

Kiran He also reflected on his casting choices and the deliberate choice of lesser-known faces in the film. She explained: “I was very lucky because Aamir was fully supportive of the idea; he also felt strongly that the story needed to be grounded and authentic, with faces that were fresh enough to be very believable in this rural setting and also not raise expectations of any kind. “
Laapataa Ladies promises to be a refreshing cinematic experience with a mix of seasoned actors and new faces.
