Ricki Lake feels “amazing” and “strong” after a weight loss and lifestyle transformation.
The former talk show host, 55, shared the health change she made with her husband in a instagram post on Saturday.
“Hi friends, I wanted to share with you what I’ve been up to these last 4 months,” Lake captioned a carousel of photos, including those of her and her husband Ross Burningham and a mirror selfie showing the transformation. In October, “I made a commitment to myself to be healthier.”
Lake and Burningham have each lost 30 pounds, he said. The couple married in 2022.
“I really want to share it, because we did this without relying on a pharmaceutical. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.) But neither of us were prediabetic and we both felt like we wanted to at least try to do it on ours,” she wrote.

The “Hairspray” actress continued: “Being 55 years old and in perimenopause, I was a little worried that my body wouldn’t lose the pounds like it had in the past. I’m so proud of us. I feel amazing. I feel strong “
Perimenopause (and premenopause) refers to the period of time before menopause or the transition to menopause. Perimenopause also includes the year following your last menstrual period. The typical age of onset of menopause is broad, usually between 45 and 55 years, but perimenopause usually begins a few years earlier.

“I’ll go into more detail on what exactly I did in another post, but suffice to say this is the healthiest way I’ve ever lost weight in all my years,” Lake wrote.
