Oppo recently launched its new Reno series in the Indian market, introducing two devices: Reno 11 Pro 5G and Reno 11 5G. We recently reviewed the new Reno 11 Pro 5G which is priced at Rs 39,999 (at the time of writing this article on the company’s official website). I used the smartphone thoroughly for more than two weeks and here is my quick review to let you know how the device works, what are the standout features and whether you should buy it or not.

look and feel

We received the ‘Pearl White’ variant of the Reno 11 Pro 5G for review, and we also have a Rocky Gray variant in the market.

This variant features a marble-like texture on the back panel and weighs around 181 grams, which is indeed comfortable to use with just one hand. The rear panel comes with a large camera module, which certainly highlights the device. The phone comes with a 6.68-inch AMOLED display that offers vibrant colors and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

One thing we think the device is missing is stereo speakers as the smartphone is available at a premium priced phone, which could be considered a drawback. But during in-room music playback or video calls, the device performed well and the sound was reasonable.

Camera performance

The phone is equipped with a triple rear camera setup: 50MP main shooter + 32MP telephoto + 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. In my experience, the phone offers really impressive daylight shots with great dynamic range. The portrait mode certainly excels with natural colors and is capable of capturing accurate skin tones.

Talking about the night mode performance, although it takes a little longer to capture that perfect shot in low light conditions. Certainly, like other Reno smartphones, the new Reno 11 Pro 5G performs well at the listed price, some users may miss out on the advanced features of the Reno 10 Pro+ (looking for an upgrade).

Performance and software

The phone runs on ColorOS 14, which is based on the Android 14 operating system. The Reno 11 Pro further ensures a smooth user experience as it comes with 12GB of LPDD5X RAM and 256GB of storage, giving the device Enough space to download multiple apps, take lots of photos and still not run out of space.

Powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 8200 chipset, the smartphone performed well but I witnessed occasional heating issues during prolonged use of the camera (Instagram Live Lives, recording long videos and more). Also, during long gaming sessions (I played NFS and Asphalt9), the device felt a bit warmer.

ColorOS 14 offers smart AI features, an aquamorphic design, and a relatively clean interface, with minor bloatware pre-installed. Overall, it performed well and was able to multitask smoothly, with little warm-up (occasionally).

Battery life and charging

The phone comes with a 4,600 mAh battery, which has an impressive battery life and can last more than a day with moderate use (8 to 10 hours while using social media, calls and some photos).

Additionally, the device comes with built-in 80W SuperVOOC charging support, which allows the device to be fully charged in 35 minutes (and it works well).

Verdict

Overall, the new Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G is priced at Rs 39,999 and comes with really impressive features such as strong camera muscles, multitasking capabilities, gaming support with high-quality graphics, really good design and long battery life that supports really good fast charging. .

Talking about the things we miss on the device is the absence of stereo speakers, and while the camera performs well, it’s still a downgrade from what we got last year from Oppo itself.

Below the price of 40,000, the new Reno 11 Pro 5G is a good device, but it could hold its own to compete with other existing high-performance devices like the OnePlus 12R, Nothing Phone (2) and Pixel 7a, which already comes with powerful Specifications.
