A trailer, 2 victims Prabhas, Vijay Deverakonda

The trailer of Vishwak Sen’s Gaami was released the other day and was widely appreciated for its technical finesse. Initial response to the trailer on social media is that the film delivers a very impressive visual presentation despite being made on a relatively limited budget.

This trailer has now brought two stars under the bomb and they are Prabhas and Vijay Deverakonda and here is the reason.

Firstly, netizens point out that Vishwak, with the Gaami directorial, delivered such an impressive VFX integration (in the trailer) with a limited budget and resources, while Prabhas’ Adipurush, which had practically infinite resources, delivered a of the worst visual experiences. The quality of a limited budget film like Gaami being superior to Adipurush in terms of visual effects and visual appeal is pointing fingers at Prabhas and asking him to take better care and monitoring of his projects.

Then coming to Vijay Deverakonda, some comment that Vijay has completely moved into the commercial space and has not tried new age films like his contemporaries like Vishwak with Gaami are doing. A netizen commented, “You (Vijay) are saying Iron eh vanchaala enti while your contemporaries are trying new avenues of film creation.”

But in Vijay’s defense, his films have more at stake and consequently the commercial appeal cannot be wasted, so he has little or no chance of making true blue experimental films. But there is a demand for him to try something new apart from these usual commercial films.

The bottom line is that the trailer of Gaami has put Prabhas and Vijay D under the bomb. If the film can deliver a winning experience in theaters, this narrative could go further.
