EAGAN, Minn. – The Vikings are adding experience and versatility to their offensive line.

Minnesota has agreed to terms with guard/center Dan Feeney, the team announced Friday.

Feeney has appeared in 112 NFL games with 65 starts. Most recently, he appeared in 16 games for the Bears, with one start in 2023.

Feeney, who will turn 30 in May, was originally a 2017 NFL Draft pick by the Chargers. Heading into that year’s draft, NFL analyst Lance Zierlein called him “the best interior offensive lineman prospect.” The Chargers grabbed Feeney in the third round, and he started 57 of 63 games during his first four seasons with Los Angeles, missing just one game in that time.

Feeney helped the Chargers average 111.5 rushing yards per game in 2020. According to analytics site Pro Football Focus, he was penalized just twice all season. He was evaluated for allowing four sacks to rookie quarterback Justin Herbert while playing every game at center.

Feeney spent 2021 and 2022 with the Jets, playing in 33 games (seven starts).

Prior to his NFL career, Feeney played four seasons for Indiana University. He was a two-time team captain and became just the fourth player in school history to earn First Team All-America honors twice, and just the third to earn First Team honors in consecutive seasons (2015 -16). .

Feeney started the first 41 games of his college career at right guard and moved to right tackle for the last five. He allowed just two sacks in 3,355 snaps in those games.
