Yesterday, with the auspicious day of Mahashivratri, the film had an impressive start and remained strong throughout the day. A spectacular start to the box office journey!
Early estimates indicated the possibility of a better start than Drishyam 2, but the film missed out by a few lakhs. According to official data, it recorded an opening day of Rs 15.21 crore at the Indian box office, thus occupying the fifth position in the list of Ajay Devgn’s biggest releases of all time. How many people watched Shaitaan yesterday?
According to Sacnilk, Shaitaan recorded an impressive 7.83 lakhs footfalls for day 1. It means the film sold 7.83 lakh tickets on the opening day. That’s a big number for a horror thriller and clearly indicates that a well-made trailer and positive word of mouth did their job well.
The fighter is on top!
In 2024, Fighter alone managed to get an opening of over 20 crores for Bollywood. Hrithik Roshan raked in Rs 24.60 crore on day 1 at the Indian box office, which is equivalent to 11.47 lakhs footsteps. Therefore, it will remain at the top by a wide margin in 2024.
Which movie will challenge Fighter?
As of now, the upcoming Eid releases Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan have the potential to surpass Fighter’s opening day footsteps at the Indian box office. Both the films will arrive during the lucrative Eid period. If the buzz increases, each film has the capacity to challenge 11.47 lakh footfalls.
