Andy Cohen apologizes for ‘inappropriate’ behavior involving Brandi Glanville

Sorry Bravo, but to paraphrase that classic song from 39 years ago by The Smiths: that joke isn’t funny anymore.

A few hours later real housewives Lawyers for alum Brandi Glanville sent a scathing letter to the owners of Bravo, NBCUniversal, Warner Bros. Discovery and Shed Media, alleging that Andy Coeh sexually harassed their client, the Watch What Happens Live! The host has responded.

Let’s say the results are mixed. Or better, real housewives EP Cohen says he’s not sorry, but he is and admits his behavior with a certain video was “inappropriate.”

NBCU nor Bravo responded to a request for a response for this latest run at the reality mill. However, a source with knowledge of the matter and who saw the video in question tells Deadline: “It’s totally a joke, he would never do that, he’s gay.”

I’m not so sure about Glanville, who has also faced accusations of sexual assault from his peers. RH Star Caroline Manzo was in on the prank, at least not according to her lawyers Bryan Freedman and Mark Geragos.

“In a video sent by Mr. Cohen to Ms. Glanville in 2022, Mr. Cohen, who appeared obviously intoxicated, bragged about his intention to sleep with another Bravo star that night while thinking about her and invited her to watch via Facetime,” the legal duo wrote today to NBCU, WBD and Shed.

“Mr. Cohen was Ms. Glanville’s boss at the time and exercised complete and total control over her career,” Freedman and Geragos add, in language quite reserved for them. “This was an extraordinary abuse of power that left “Ms. Glanville feeling trapped and upset. It is inconceivable that Mr. Cohen would remain in his position despite this behavior and harkens back to the good old days of Matt Lauer and NBC News when profits were prioritized over people.”

The correspondence, which catalogs a hell of unwritten sins on reality TV over the years, also criticizes the media giants for “feeding a narrative that Ms. Glanville engaged in serious sexual misconduct” she same.

Still not suing, but clearly positioning themselves to do just that for Glanville (as they’ve done lately for other reality stars in the Bravoverse), Freedman and Geragos want the media giants and Shed to preserve everything.

“With respect to documents, tangible things and ESI that are created or passed into your custody, possession or control after the date of delivery of this letter, potentially relevant evidence must be preserved,” they demand. “All appropriate measures should be taken to prevent the destruction of potentially relevant evidence.”

Or as Freedman put it in a statement to Deadline on Thursday about this latest spontaneous controversy: “This is yet another example of the abusive practices of the reality TV industry. Mark Geragos and I have heard from thousands of current and former reality TV cast members about the physical and emotional harm inflicted on them by virtue of their participation. NBC, Bravo, Warner Bros. and Shed Media intentionally obscure their legal rights, bind them to illegal contracts, and knowingly make them suffer in silence. We know that there are untold numbers of innocent victims who have yet to tell their stories or seek legal redress. We encourage you all to contact us and join our growing team as we fight for change in this sordid industry.”

That’s getting real.
