Ayo Edebiri made her debut as a presenter on Saturday night live and choked when he took the stage of NBC’s late-night sketch show.
“I’m very excited to be here. SNL it means a lot to me. This truly is a dream come true,” Edebiri said, fighting back tears during the emotional moment. “I was born and raised in Boston, making me the first black woman to admit it. Three days into February and I’m already making black history.”
Edebiri said she was raised in Boston by an immigrant family, adding that she is African and Caribbean and joked, “So, you know what that means… I’m in therapy.”
Bear The star said he had always wanted to do the show and “once wrote a packet” of ideas to do on SNL. Reading some of his ideas, he recalled the Black Jeopardy sketch and added, “So, I wanted to do a sketch called White Jeopardy that didn’t work because it was just white people playing.” Danger.”
Another of his ideas was to have a character with a catchphrase that said, “Get on now.” Edebiri would pronounce the phrase like Keenan Thompson and the Queen of England with a British accent. At the end of the part, he returned the package and asked for it to be burned.
Edebiri closed her monologue by saying, “I am really very excited for tonight. I came to the New York comedy scene with some of my best friends, who I’m lucky enough to work with here tonight, and it really feels like a homecoming. “I think I’ve been here long enough, so there’s really only one thing left to say: let’s jump into it now.”
