Bachelor Finale Live Updates: Joey Gets Engaged to Kelsey Anderson as Upcoming Bachelorette Announced

Joey and his new fiancée have talked People In an interview published immediately after The Bachelor final.

“We want to pledge our lives together, but we don’t want to rush it,” Joey told the magazine. “It’s time to enjoy this. We have the rest of our lives to celebrate it. “We’re going to take it day by day and just enjoy this moment.”

Kelsey said she hopes she and Joey will be engaged for two or three years before tying the knot.

“Honestly, I don’t know what I want my wedding to be like,” she said. “I definitely want all my close friends and family to be there. I think I want a very timeless wedding, but where? I’m not sure. “I guess we’ll just have to figure it out.”

At the end of “After the Final Rose,” medical assistant Jenn Trann, 26, was named as the next Bachelorette.

“I’m looking for someone who has a great personality,” he said. “What I like most is to have fun, what I want is to have those cheeky jokes.”

The new season will premiere this summer on ABC.

Jesse simply teased the return of Kelsey’s father, Mark, saying, “And Mark, maybe we’ll see each other soon.”

After the widower was introduced during visits to his hometown, fans have been begging for his inclusion in the upcoming season of The golden bachelorette party.

The spin-off was announced at Disney’s Television Critics Association press tour in February, following the successful debut of The golden bachelor last year.

On the “After the Final Rose” live show, Daisy was asked when she knew Kelsey had the strongest connection with Joey.

He said that when Rachel was eliminated in the penultimate episode, he noticed a look between Joey and Kelsey that revealed their chemistry.

“Leaving was very difficult, but sometimes the difficult is the best,” Daisy said. “It was the best thing for all of us.”

In the final scenes of the pre-taped show, Joey proposed to Kelsey, who responded with an elated “yes.”

“I knew from the beginning that there was something different about you and I just wanted to learn more,” Joey began by telling him. “There is nothing difficult about choosing you and I can’t wait another minute to tell you that I love you.”

He continued: “There is something about you. You have this contagious energy that makes me smile.

Joey then gave Kelsey his final rose.

“I’m so happy,” he said. “I don’t know if I’ve ever been so happy in my life.”

In a first for Bachelor Nation, Daisy decided to bow out before the final rose ceremony.

“I know you came into my life for a reason,” he said. “You showed me how important it is to know my worth.”

She continued: “Falling in love with you has been so much fun and I love you. But the thing is, you’re not going to choose me.”

Both she and Joey broke down in tears as she added, “In the last few days, I realized that you are not my person and I know that you know that I am not your person. And as much as it hurts, I know you said you wanted the best for me, so I’m going to do what’s best for me and I’m going to go.”

“You don’t understand how special you really are. It hurts me so much to know that I have something special with someone else,” Joey said. “This has been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do because I know how much I’ll miss you.”

He added: “You deserve nothing but the best and I really wish I could give it to you.”

“Daisy is the strongest woman I’ve ever met,” Joey concluded.

To say Bachelor Nation is shaking would be an understatement.

For the first time in the franchise, the two finalists spoke just before the final rose ceremony. Daisy went to Kelsey’s hotel room to ask her how her last date with Joey went.

Kelsey said she felt “a lot of validation” at the end of their date, which is exactly what Daisy felt like she was missing.

“I love him and I care about him, but I’m really hurting,” Daisy said. “You shouldn’t feel like that… I really think she’s Kelsey, but I’m not going to walk away right now because what if she’s not?”

Many viewers feel sorry for Daisy, who received a spiritual ceremony while Kelsey and Joey received a couples massage.

“Daisy had a claustrophobic, sweaty rock date and Kelsey will have a full spa day. Oh this is definitely over,” one person wrote on Twitter/X.
