Beyonce has Announced a new album: Act II arrives on March 29. She has also graced us with two new songs: “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages.” Listen to those below and scroll down to watch Bey’s teaser clip.

Beyoncé revealed the news with a video on her Instagram account during the Super Bowl LVIII game. It looks like she’s going country for the second act of her Renaissance trilogy, based on the teaser footage.

Beyoncé’s announcement video also features old-school tunes like Chuck Berry’s “Maybelline,” as well as a dusty scene of men looking at a huge billboard depicting a scantily clad Beyoncé and the words “Texas! Hold them.” The moment seems to be a reference to the 1984 Wim Wenders film Paris, Texas.

While news of the album came as a surprise, Verizon hinted that a Related to Beyoncé advertisement was performing this week and wore a white cowboy hat at the 2024 Grammys last weekend. Bey’s Super Bowl ad ran just a few minutes before she dropped the explosive news.

Renaissance was Beyoncé’s seventh studio album overall and was originally announced as Act I: Rebirth—implying that future releases would do the same—before its release in July 2022. While the album never had traditional music videos, there was a “clique” clip from “Break My Soul,” a “brand campaign anthem film” for Tiffany & Co. that used “Summer Renaissance,” and a concert film that played in theaters around the world. Renaissance: a Beyoncé movie was the number one film in the United States during its debut weekend and, as of January 11, has grossed more than $44.4 million worldwide.

“Break My Soul” was nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Dance/Electronic Recording at the 2023 Grammy Awards, but Beyoncé only won the latter. However, that didn’t stop her from taking home four trophies that night, bringing her career total to 32 wins, breaking the record for most Grammy Awards won by an artist in the history of the awards show.
