Beyoncé scores another No. 1 on this chart, as her two-week-old single “Texas Hold ‘Em” climbs to the top rung of the most-streamed songs in the U.S. The tune lost the throne when it arrived, but It didn’t take long for the superstar to correct it and reach the top.
“Texas Hold ‘Em” rises to No. 1 on this week’s Hot 100, becoming the top single in the United States for the first time. The song is Beyoncé’s lucky 13th run on the country’s top songs chart, if you look at her total output.
Over the course of her decades-long solo career, Beyoncé has taken nine songs to No. 1 on the Hot 100, with “Texas Hold ‘Em” becoming her ninth No. 1 hit. She began her incredible journey on her own in 2003, when she caught a couple of rulers. Both “Crazy in Love” with Jay-Z and “Baby Boy” with Sean Paul took turns at the top. He would return to the top spot on the Hot 100 with the following hits: “Check On It” with Slim Thug, “Irreplaceable”, “Singles Ladies (Put A Ring On It)”, “Perfect” with Ed Sheeran, “Savage” with Megan Thee Stallion and, most recently, until this week, “Break My Soul” in 2022.
Before going solo, Beyoncé scored four trips to No. 1 on the Hot 100 as a member of Destiny’s Child. The girl group sent “Bills, Bills, Bills,” “Say My Name,” “Independent Women Pt. 1,” and “Bootylicious” to the top rung of the count before going their separate ways.
This week, “Texas Hold ‘Em” grows in importance thanks to a huge increase in both airplay and radio attention. The simple won 29 million streams, which is more than 50% more than last week. The song also sold another 29,000 copies, although that number is smaller. The country hit is also quickly gaining traction when it comes to the airwaves, having racked up 16.1 million radio audience impressions in the latest tracking period.
“Texas Hold ‘Em” came a little close to debuting at No. 1 on the Hot 100 last week, but fell short.
