Beyoncé, the first black woman to top the country music chart with “Texas Hold ‘Em”

Beyoncé continues to break barriers.

A year after becoming the artist with the most Grammy Awards in history, the Houston-born superstar has achieved what may have once seemed like an even more unattainable record: becoming the first black woman to reach number one on the chart. Billboard Hot Country Songs.

Their song “Texas Hold ‘Em,” released on February 11, debuted atop the Hot Country Songs chart. Additionally, “16 Carriages,” another single from her upcoming album peaked at No. 9. The songs debuted at No. 2 and No. 38, respectively, on the Billboard Hot 100. Throughout her solo career, the singer has topped the Hot 100 eight times.

According to Billboard, Beyoncé also made history this week as the first woman to top the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts. Morgan Wallen, Justin Bieber, Billy Ray Cyrus and Ray Charles are the only other artists to have topped both charts.
