It’s been a few days since Ranveer Singh surprised everyone with his latest commercial with porn star Johnny Sins. The ad, which parodies a ‘saas bahu’ drama, is for a sexual health care brand, which also has Ranveer as an investor. Popular television actor Bhavna Chauhan played the female lead Kishu in the commercial. She is distraught by her husband’s (Sins) sexual health problems. In an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, Bhavna spoke about the now viral ad and also reacted to the mixed comments he has been receiving.

‘I NEVER THOUGHT JOHNNY SINS WOULD BE PART OF AN AD LIKE THIS’
Bhavna Chauhan, who played the female lead in the viral Ranveer Singh-Johnny Sins ad, shared how she auditioned for it after finding the script “hilarious”. She also confessed that she assumed the ad was with John Cena and not Johnny Sins. “I don’t know why I misread the name. But thinking about it, never in my dreams did I think that Johnny would be part of an advertisement like this. I thought that wrestlers do a lot of work in India and that’s why I was “I foolishly thought it was going to be John Cena. Only after I got the final details, I found out that he was Johnny Sins,” Bhavna shared with a laugh.
He added that it was then that he realized why the casting team reconfirmed their approval. “They kept asking me if I knew who was in the ad. They were making sure and I was confidently saying, ‘Yes, I know, John, we’ll do it.'”
‘IT’S THE MOST DARING PROJECT I’VE EVER DONE’
While the realization came as a slight surprise to Bhavna Chauhan, she felt quite comfortable about it. The actress added that her family was also quite “calm” and no one questioned her decision. “Honestly, it’s the boldest project I’ve ever done, as I’ve even stayed away from on-screen kisses until now. And seed Johnny Sins ke sath kar liya project (I immediately did a project with Johnny Sins). There are people who tell me that I refused to work because of certain scenes, but how come I said yes to this? But they need to understand that it was done with a lot of class.”
The actor revealed how the filmmakers edited certain scenes that seemed a little risqué and even toned down the drama and humor. “The director loved my audition and he asked me to act the same way. However, he asked me to tone it down a bit because they didn’t want it to be a parody,” he shared.

‘NOBODY MADE FUN OF THE TV INDUSTRY’
Bhavna addressed the criticism the ad received for ‘mocking TV shows’ and said, “They are marketers and understand the ripple effect of such things. Honestly, the original script was funnier but they tweaked it accordingly. The intention has always been “To make it look like a normal scene from a TV show for everyone at home to watch casually. “They wanted the issue to be normalized.”
Bhavna said she is not ignoring actors like Rashami Desai, who showed their displeasure over the announcement. However, as part of the industry, he never felt that television was disrespected during the making of the ad, as he said: “Koi mazaak nahi udaaya hai (No one made fun of the television industry).”
‘RANVEER SINGH AND MY ENERGY VERY EQUAL’
The actor also spoke about working with Ranveer Singh and how he was a “professional” on the set. He added: “It was a lot of fun to be around him. Our energies coincided and he also told me that he liked my work. As for Johnny Sins, because he was so concerned with my lines and my takes, I didn’t get the chance to do it.” I couldn’t interact with him much. But he was quite cooperative and professional. “We all had fun filming together.”
On a final note, Bhavna Chauhan laughed at how fans have been sharing the craziest comments. “One of them told me how she should be awarded for being the first woman to work with Johnny Sins without being intimate with him. It was so funny,” she shared with a smile.
