Brandi Glanville, former cast member of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and “Ultimate Girls Trip,” accused Bravo host of “Watch What Happens Live” and “Real Housewives” executive producer Andy Cohen of harassment sexual in a lengthy letter from his legal representation.
Glanville sent a letter from her attorney Bryan Freedman to NBCUniversal, Shed Media and Shed’s parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery, claiming that a “drunk” Cohen sent her a video message indicating “his intention to sleep with another Bravo star.” that night while I was thinking.” from her and invited her to watch via Facetime.”
The letter goes on to state that Glanville felt “trapped” and “disgusted” due to the nature of Cohen’s exchange.
Shortly after the letter became public, Cohen issued his own statement explaining that the video was “very clearly” a prank on Glanville and featured former “Below Deck” star Kate Chastain.
“It was absolutely a joke, and Brandi’s response clearly communicated that she was in on the joke. That being said, it was totally inappropriate and I apologize.”
This letter comes nearly a month after co-star Caroline Manzo of the yet-to-air reality series “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip” sued Bravo, NBCU and Shed, alleging that Glanville had sexually harassed and assaulted her while Filming in Morocco.
Manzo, who previously appeared on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey,” alleges that Glanville forcibly kissed her and touched her vagina and breasts during the taping of an episode.
Costume, filed in New York state courtalso alleges that Bravo and the network’s additional production arms were aware of Glanville’s past inappropriate conduct but hired her anyway to boost ratings for their new reality series.
In the Feb. 22 letter, Freedman writes that in Manzo’s lawsuit, Glanville has been “subjected to a vicious media campaign based on false allegations of sexual misconduct. “The false narrative, which NBC and Shed Media have apparently decided to foster, arises from Ms. Glanville’s experience on ‘Ultimate Girls Trip: Morocco.’”
Describing Manzo’s allegations as “murder” that have led to Glanville’s “financial ruin,” his representation blames both NBC and Shed Media and claims they are “deliberately recasting a series of intimate moments between two consenting adults.” a # Me Too Scenario This is a transparent attempt to sever ties with Ms. Glanville in a manner intended to deny her recourse, discredit her, and prevent damaging revelations that Ms. Glanville is uniquely positioned to reveal.”
The letter also indicates that the firm has an ongoing investigation into the reality TV production process. “Indeed, the institutions with which she is indelibly linked personally, professionally, financially and in the public mind have long taken advantage of Ms. Glanville. Her story, one of thousands we have heard in the course of our investigation into the practices of the reality TV industry, is part and parcel of Reality Reckoning.”
The letter was sent in hopes of preserving evidence for Glanville, “as our client is asserting rights that may result in litigation.” The duty notice ordered the letter’s recipients to “take immediate steps to preserve all existing documents and data relevant to Ms. Glanville’s claims against NBC, Warner Bros., Shed Media and/or Caroline Manzo to prevent overwriting or any other possible destruction.” of relevant documents and data. This includes all electronic correspondence and communications between the parties listed in the letter along with all audio and video from the production of “Ultimate Girls Trip: Morocco.”
An NBCU spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
