“I didn’t think anyone would hire me again because they would assume I had anorexia and that would be the end of it.”

Calista further recalled: ‘I had days where I felt really hurt, embarrassed and angry. I was lucky to have to work.’

He explained that he decided to ignore the rumors and maintain a positive attitude. ‘I just put my head down. I always thought, “Calista, you’re a good person, you’re not mean to anyone,” and I’m confident in that.

The actress also explained to the publication that she felt the past situation would not happen in the present.

“Now they call it body shaming. I haven’t thought about it in a long time, but it’s really not right to accuse someone of having an illness that a lot of people struggle with.’

Flockhart added: “I look at the pictures and I’m the same as I am now, and now no one says a word.”

He also explained that when it comes to his own height of about 5’5″, his weight has always been at a healthy point.

Calista then said: ‘My mom is now between 4 and 11 years old and weighed 93 pounds when she got married. She talks about a little elf. I only have small bones and I’m lucky.

In the past, the actress has addressed comments about her weight, including an interview with People when I worked at Ally McBeal back in 1998.

“I guess I don’t know the exact definition of anorexia,” she told the publication at the time.

‘But I eat. As usual. I eat what I want, when I want. I don’t have a complicated relationship with food… Am I anorexic? I guess my answer would have to be no.’

She also explained that she had been focusing on a healthier diet that eliminated junk food and, due to longer work hours, the star had not committed to her usual exercise routine.

‘In the process I think my body has gone from muscular to softer. I’m not saying people don’t see what they see.’

‘If I did, it would indicate that I am crazy. I’m just saying it’s a normal weight fluctuation. “I don’t look in the mirror that often, but when I do, I have to say no, I don’t consider myself too thin,” Calista said.

Flockhart took on the lead role in the critically acclaimed legal comedy-drama from 1997 to 2002.

The hit show notably garnered Golden Globe and Emmy awards during its time on the air. In 2022, it was announced that an Ally McBeal reboot is also in the works.

Calista, who is currently married to fellow actor Harrison Ford, has stayed busy in the industry, with her most recent project being Feud: Capote vs. The Swans.
