Cameron Diaz has a son!

The actress, 51, and her husband, musician Benji Madden, 45, announced on March 22 that they had welcomed a son, Cardinal Madden.

“We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our son, Cardinal Madden,” the couple shared in a joint Instagram post.

“It’s amazing and we’re all so happy it’s here! For the kids’ safety and privacy, we won’t be posting any photos, but it’s really cute. We feel so blessed and grateful. Sending so much love from our family to yours. My best wishes and good afternoon!!

Cardinal joins her older sister, Raddix, whom the couple revealed they welcomed in early 2020. The couple made a similar announcement on Instagram at the time to tell the world about their first child.

“Happy New Year from Maddens! “We are very happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden,” they wrote. “She instantly captured our hearts and completed our family.”

Like Cardinal, Diaz and Madden have refrained from sharing photos of Raddix in an effort to protect his privacy. But that hasn’t stopped Díaz from gushing about her life as a mother.

“In the last seven months I have entered the best stage of my life: motherhood!” Díaz told Rolling Stone in July 2020.

“We’re really playing some great ‘Sesame Street’ songs. We’ve got ‘Baby Shark’ in the mix and of course Benj has written at least a dozen songs for it,” Diaz said at the time. Madden is the lead guitarist of the band “Good Charlotte.” “So we’re doing very upbeat and often a cappella stuff here.”

She also told Jimmy Fallon during an appearance on “The Tonight Show” in 2020 that quarantining with her baby was “heaven.”

“You can enjoy every moment, and it goes by so quickly,” he said.

“People have always told me: ‘Have a lot of fun when you are babies; it goes very fast.’ And literally every day, there are leaps and bounds and these things that happen: she is no longer the same baby that she was yesterday.”
