A Los Angeles mansion belonging to British model and actress Cara Delevingne has been devastated by a fire.

The 31-year-old was not there at the time, as she is currently starring in a stage performance in London’s West End.

Images show huge flames coming from the roof of the luxurious house and, later, the blackened and smoking ruins.

“My heart is broken,” Delevingne wrote on Instagram when she thought her two cats had died in the fire.

“Life can change in the blink of an eye. So appreciate what you have,” he said.

However, she later updated her 42 million followers with the good news that the cats had survived the fire: “They’re alive! Thanks to the firefighters,” she wrote.

Two people were injured in the fire that devastated the two-story property in the hills of Studio City, northwest of Hollywood. One firefighter was taken to the hospital in stable condition and one resident suffered mild smoke inhalation, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) said.

Firefighters responded to the scene after a 911 call was made at approximately 04:00 local time (11:00 GMT) on Friday.

According an incident reportThe fire started in the rear of the 1970s home and quickly spread to the attic, causing the roof to collapse.

It took 94 firefighters more than two hours to control the flames.

Residents in the area were evacuated while fire crews worked to contain the flames and prevent it from spreading to other homes, the BBC’s US partner said. CBS News reported.

Fire chiefs said an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fire.

Delevingne thanked “from the bottom of my heart… all the firefighters and the people who showed up to help.”

The actress, who made her stage debut this week as Sally Bowles in Cabaret at London’s Kit Kat Club, reportedly bought the house in 2019.

In a tour of her home for Architectural Digest in 2021, she described it as “one of my favorite places,” comparing it to “an adult playhouse” and citing Hugh Hefner as the inspiration behind her choice of decor. Inside, it had a “David Bowie shrine,” a ball pit, and a collection of Japanese puzzle boxes.
