Cardi B’s long-awaited second album is on the way, and the Grammy-winning rapper has been teasing her return for some time now. Earlier this month, she indicated that she was ready to hit the ground running with her freestyle “Like What,” and now she’s seemingly on the threshold of the next era of hers with new single “Enough (Miami).” .
The Bronx-raised rapper’s swagger is displayed throughout the track. “If they connect, I’m like, ‘What the fuck?’ / If you’re scared then say that, h*e, that’s enough / They was in my DMs, I can’t trust this sh*t / I’m ’bout to call Diamond, bitch, play if you resist,” he raps in the chorus.
When talking about her next steps, Cardi insisted that the next time fans hear from her will be when it’s time to announce the album. “I kind of dropped the freestyle and everything, you know, just to get my feet wet,” she said, according to Billboard. “I’m going to release this single (“Enough (Miami)”), and the next announcement won’t be a single, it’ll be an album.”
“I’m out again,” he added. “I’m tired of shit stopping me. “It’s been six years since I released an album, so I will release an album this year.”
While many have been clamoring for a new project from the rapper since her Grammy-winning debut. Invasion of privacy dropped in 2018, Cardi has been taking things easy.
“Everyone always tells me I should release the record now,” he said. Vogue Mexico last year. “They did it when I released ‘WAP’ (in 2020) and when I released ‘Up’ (in 2021), but I always let them know that I’m not going to wait long after all these singles.
