The cause of death of Thomas Kingston, financier and husband of Lady Gabriella Kingston, has been announced.
The British royal’s provisional cause of death was determined to be “a traumatic head injury,” an English coroner revealed at a judicial inquest on Friday, according to The Guardian and BBC.
According to The Guardian, a 45-year-old financier was found on Sunday night in a locked building at his parents’ residence in the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, and there was a gun at the scene, the senior coroner told the inquest. Gloucestershire, Katy Skerrett.
Gloucestershire is 100 miles west of London.

Kingston had lunch with his parents, and after his father went out to walk the dog, Kingston was nowhere to be found. After 30 minutes, his mother came to pick him up, Skerrett said.
“His father forced entry into a locked outbuilding when he couldn’t get a response,” Skerrett said during the investigation, according to The Guardian. “He found Mr. Kingston deceased with a catastrophic head injury.”
The coroner continued: “There was a weapon at the scene. Emergency services were called. Police are satisfied that the death is not suspicious.”
