Channels showing Poonam Pandey’s stupidity but not Maharashtra gang war: MP | Latest news India

Uddhav Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, in a wide-ranging commentary on the gang war in Maharashtra and Poonam Pandey faking her death, said national channels are more interested in the latter. BJP MLA from Kalyan Ganpat Gaikwad opened fire on Mahesh Gaikwad, a Shinde Sena leader, and others inside a police station in Ulhasnagar on Friday night. The incident was caught on camera. The CCTV footage that went viral showed them all sitting inside the police station. Suddenly, Ganpat stood up and started shooting while the others were taken by surprise.

Priyanka Chaturvedi called Poonam Pandey’s fake death PR stunt shameful.

Another incident that sent shock waves across the country from Maharashtra on Saturday was the fake death of model and actor Poonam Pandey to create awareness about cervical cancer. On Friday, the model’s social media page claimed that Poonam Pandey died of cervical cancer. A day later, Poonam claimed that cervical cancer did not claim her life, but that cannot be said for thousands of women.

“When faking death is to seek attention, it’s embarrassing. There are many ways to create awareness about cervical cancer, but this idea is silly, isn’t it?” said Priyanka Chaturvedi criticizing Poonam’s PR stunt.

As the shooting incident raised questions over the law and order situation, the BJP MLA said he does not regret shooting Mahesh Gaikwad. “If my son is being beaten in front of the police inside the police station, what will I do?” Ganpat said. They arrived at the police station because of a land dispute and then the shooting took place.

Former Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray said the Ulhasnagar sacking incident is just one example of how anarchic Maharashtra has become after Eknath Shinde and the BJP formed the governments. During the Ganesh Chaturthi procession, an MLA threatened Mumbaikars with a gun and was later made chairman of a temple trust as a reward, he said. An MLA’s son was caught on camera kidnapping a Mumbai businessman, he said, adding that there was no police action. Listing many other incidents, Aaditya Thackeray said that in the last two years, many riots have broken out in Maharashtra over fake WhatsApp messages. “This is the current state of affairs in Maharashtra, unfortunately under a shameless and highly incapable illegal CM,” Aaditya wrote in an X post.
