Chynna Phillips reveals her father ‘surprised’ her the night before marrying Billy Baldwin

Chynna Phillips revealed that her late father, musician John Phillips, “surprised” her with information just hours before she married Billy Baldwin.

“We talked about things that were pretty momentous and a lot of things had come to the surface and my dad was having a lot of feelings,” she shared on her YouTube channel. “California preaching” last week.

“Of course, that made me have a lot of feelings and I remember I was up all night crying and also numb.”

The conversation, which took place the night before their wedding, caused Chynna to vacillate between crying and becoming “stoic.”

“…it was because my father had just revealed some really important information to me and I felt shocked,” she explained.

Chynna, 56, never specified what exactly she and the late Mamas & The Papas singer talked about, but she said he must have felt the need to “come clean” before walking her down the aisle.

She and the “Backdraft” star tied the knot the next morning and became parents to daughters Jameson, 23, and Brooke, 19, and son Vance, 22. Last month, Chynna revealed that she and Baldwin, 60, quietly separated for six months. .

Band member Wilson Phillips previously admitted she missed her childhood because her father, who died in 2001 of heart failure at age 65, “was on drugs.”

He also publicly supported his half-sister, Mackenize Phillips, after she revealed in her memoir, “High on Arrival,” that she and John had an incestuous relationship for a decade.

“When I was by your side, I meant it with all my heart, you know? I really did it. And I believed you,” Chynna told Mackenzie, 64, on her YouTube show in the fall.

“And I want you to know that I am proud of you for revealing (your story)… even though it was painful for everyone.”
