during a oppenheimer At the BFI screening in London, Murphy donned a cardigan from British brand YMC, an acronym for “you must create,” which features a mid-century appeal whose popularity has only grown in recent months. A staple YMC style, the Rat Pack cardigan features a full placket closure and collar, reminiscent of the style many of the real Rat Pack would wear in the ’60s. (It’s such a popular look that even Ryan Gosling is known to wear this style of cardigan during his press conference for Barbie.)
YMC has been in business since 1995, specializing in utilitarian designs inspired by work and military clothing. Their small embellishments on each of their pieces can turn what could be boring clothes into something quite eye-catching.
For the screening of this film, Murphy wore the Rat Pack cardigan in a subtle colorway, featuring both horizontal and vertical navy and dark blue stripes. We like that the star opted to keep her cardigan open to let her white T-shirt stand out and tone down the rather eye-catching pattern, or at least “eye-catching” for the typically low-key actor.
