Fresh off his Oscar win for best actor, it seems Cillian Murphy hasn’t forgotten where he came from.
Steven Knight, creator of the beloved crime drama “Peaky Blinders,” said Birmingham World Murphy will reprise his role as gang leader Tommy Shelby in the planned movie “Peaky Blinders.”
“He’s definitely coming back for it,” Knight told the publication. “We’re filming it in September, just down the road in Digbeth.”
CNN has reached out to representatives for Murphy for comment.
The actor was the favorite of this recent awards season for his portrayal of physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s film “Oppenheimer.”
“Peaky Blinders” fans had expressed interest on social media about whether Murphy would return to the role given his breakout success with “Oppenheimer.”
