The all indian Cinema Workers Association (AIWCA) has demanded a FIR TREE against Poonam Pandeystating that his actions were considered “very wrong” and “unacceptable.”
On Saturday, the Indian Film Workers Association (AICWA) issued an official statement through her social media account, urging legal action not only against Poonam Pandey but also against her manager. The association condemned the publicity stunt, stating that such actions are not acceptable in the film industry and that no one should stoop to such levels.
“Model-actress Poonam Pandey’s fake PR stunt is very wrong. Using the appearance of Cervical cancer for self-promotion is not acceptable. After this news, people may hesitate to believe any news about death in the Indian film industry. No one in the film industry stoops to such levels when it comes to public relations. Poonam Pandey’s manager had confirmed the fake news, so there should be an FIR against Poonam Pandey and his manager to prevent anyone from exploiting the news of her own death for personal gain (PR). The entire Indian film industry, along with the entire nation, paid tribute (sic),” the statement read.

Poonam Pandey’s ‘death’ was declared in a post published on her official Instagram account on Friday, February 2. The message conveyed deep sadness, informing her followers of her supposed death due to cervical cancer. The post expressed the shared affection and kindness she had for every being she encountered. During this period of her mourning, privacy was requested to remember the moments shared with her.

However, on Saturday afternoon, the actress released a video statement, revealing that she is indeed alive. She explained that the intention behind the false news of her death was to raise awareness about cervical cancer. Not everyone took kindly to this revelation, and several celebrities, including Kangana Ranaut and Karan Kundracriticized the actress for her unconventional approach.
