CM Punk makes a surprise appearance after Raw goes off the air

Monday night (February 19) was a rough night for Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso, courtesy of Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso. And yet Raw may have ended in a bitter night for many spectators, those attending Sold Out Honda Center in Anaheim he walked away with a consolation prize that included a surprise appearance by CM Punk.

After rescuing Jey and helping him scare off Jimmy and Sikoa, who returned to join the brotherly beatdown, Cody Rhodes led the crowd in comforting his former tag team championship partner. Rhodes thanked the crowd and added that one more person wanted to say hello. That’s when he introduced CM Punk.

Punk, with his arm still in a brace after triceps surgery, said it wasn’t easy sitting back knowing that Anaheim came out strong and stayed hot during three hours of WWE action. He then made a promise for the next time WWE came to town.

“I promise you that the next time we are in Anaheim, I will be here. And I’ll put my boots on,” Punk said.

Still, there was further.

From there, Rhodes, the man of the people, took over and offered a turnbuckle signed by all three men to one lucky fan. Not to be outdone, Jey Uso took off his shoes and signed them as another parting gift to Anaheim. Punk, who admitted that he was not prepared, knowingly committed a federal crime and signed a hundred dollar bill that he gave to a fan, which is equivalent to a Gasoline tank for many in the Golden State.

After Rhodes thanked the crowd once again, Jey Uso had the final say to close the show.

“STUPID!”

Jey’s optimistic goodbye contrasted sharply with how Raw started and ended.

The show started with Sikoa hitting Rhodes while drilling him with a Samoan Spike. That led to Drew McIntyre scoring a victory over The American Nightmare. Later in the main event, Jey Uso saw his dreams of becoming Intercontinental Champion ruined by his “older” brother Jim. Jimmy’s unexpected appearance caused a distraction that allowed champion Gunther to score a tainted victory to retain his crown.

However, Punk’s appearance and Cody’s actions helped the Anaheim crowd feel happy at home.
