Kate Middleton and Prince William have come under increased scrutiny as CNN is reviewing all photos previously released by Kensington Palace.
The broadcaster said the striking image released by the palace showing the Princess of Wales with her three children has prompted them to look at previous images they had been provided, adding that the media “hopes that those images are accurate. .”
The royal was forced to apologize after major photo agencies including Reuters, Associated Press, Getty and Agence France-Presse removed the image over numerous signs it had been “manipulated”.
An analysis published by CNN states that it considers it “unacceptable to move, change or manipulate the pixels of an image,” as it alters the photograph itself.
“In editorial photography, photojournalists and editors often adjust the exposure or color balance of a photo to more accurately reflect the scene.” CNN said in a statement.
“CNN is now reviewing all photographs previously provided by Kensington Palace,” the outlet added.
Once the investigation is completed, a final decision will be published.

Just seconds after the image was posted to social media, eagle-eyed followers noticed a slew of editing errors in the photo of Middleton with her three children.
Widespread speculation led conspiracy theorists to come out of the woodwork, with claims not only about Middleton’s health, but also about her whereabouts.
After photo retouching apparently exacerbated rumors about her health, the royal returned to social media to set the record straight about what had happened.
“Like many amateur photographers, I experiment with editing from time to time,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter, in the wake of the controversy. “I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion caused by the family photo we shared yesterday.”
