Samantha was one of the speakers on Day 1 of the India Today Conclave 2024. Her session was titled ‘The Splendid Miss Samantha: From Pushpa to Family Man, Carving Her Own Niche’. During her session, the actress talked about how she has always felt “uncomfortable with her sexuality.”

Samantha, who impressed fans with her acting skills and performances in several films, opened up about being stereotyped for her performances in the films ‘The Family Man’ and ‘Pushpa’. While talking about her decision to act in Allu Arjun’s blockbuster ‘Oo Antava’ from ‘Pushpa’, the actress revealed that it was a challenging task for her.

“I think the decision to do ‘Oo Antava’ was similar to that of doing Raji (his character in The Family Man 2). ‘I think the good side of not having too many people around you, no one in your ear expressing their opinions that you need ‘This is the bright side. The other side is that I need to make mistakes, learn from them and own my instincts. The decision to do ‘Oo Antava’ came from the place where I had to explore that facet of being an actor. I always found myself “I’ve been very uncomfortable with my sexuality. I don’t feel very comfortable or safe. I’ve always operated from a place of ‘I’m not good enough, I don’t feel pretty, I don’t look good’ like other girls.”

Furthermore, while talking about the challenges, he said, “For me, it was a big challenge. The close-up of ‘Oo Antava’ and I was shaking with fear because sexy is not my thing. But what I have grown as an actor and as a person is that I have put myself in the most difficult circumstances and I fight to overcome them. “This is how I am killing these demons.”

Samantha had announced a work break in 2022. However, she is now ready to return to the screen. Meanwhile, she will next be seen in directors Raj and DK’s ‘Citadel: India’. She will share the screen space with Varun Dhawan in the spy thriller series.
