Could Bron Breakker join forces with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania?

While wrestling detectives try to decode The Rock’s gestures in Slapwhich some see as WWE hinting at a betrayal by Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, many missed a clue that could ultimately blow this case wide open.

Or should I say, break This case is completely open.

Last Friday, the General Manager of the blue brand, Nick Aldis, introduced the world to his new recruit, the NXT Couples Champion Bron Breakker. After signing with SmackDown, Aldis raised Breakker’s hand in triumphant celebration. When Breakker’s hand went up, so did his index finger, Bloodline style, in what may have been a brief but subtle shout-out to Tribal Chief Roman Reigns.

Bron Breakker: SmackDown’s best recruit or future Bloodline backup? Up to you.

While fans hope for the imminent fall of the table leader, the arrival of Bron Breakker could suggest otherwise, dashing those hopes in spectacular fashion, resulting in Reigns’ continued dominance.

After an impressive performance during the Royal Rumble in January, Breakker began making the rounds on Raw and SmackDown. On the February 9 edition of Fox’s all-star hit, Breakker sat down directly with chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, who praised the young prospect’s career in NXT. But as Breakker attempted to sound out Levesque about which brand to sign with, Paul Heyman interrupted the pair to talk business with The Game, but not before shaking Breakker’s hand and referring to him as a “great talent.”

Although their interaction was brief, it was not the first time Heyman shared the screen with the former two-time NXT Champion.

Last fall, Heyman supported Breakker in a match against Carmelo Hayes during a special edition of NXT. As Breakker prepared for battle, Heyman reminded him and the world of how he worked with Breakker’s father and uncle (Rick and Scott Steiner, respectively) in the past. The Wizard King then added that he did not earn this distinction by remembering previous events.

“I am the wise man because I can see the future,” Heyman said. “And the future is Bron Breaker in the main event of WrestleMania.”

After Breakker informed Heyman that he would break anyone who stood in his way, a cheerful Heyman called out Roman Reigns. But where things would get especially interesting is how Heyman would introduce Breakker before his confrontation with Hayes.

Just as eagle-eyed observers noticed how The Rock addressed Cody Rhodes but looked at Roman Reigns when he said he would “do everything in his power to make sure that you Come out of WrestleMania as you are, you’re a loser,” Heyman perhaps took an even more nuanced approach with Breakker:

“On behalf of my Tribal Chief, it is an honor, it is a privilege, it is a pleasure to present to you the most talented artist on the entire NXT roster. A WrestleMania moment waiting to happen, on behalf of Roman Reigns, I present to you the tough Bron Breakker.”

Removing a pause in one of those statements leaves this:

A WrestleMania moment waiting to happen in the name of Roman Reigns.

Remembering what Heyman said about the future with Breakker in the main event of WWE’s lavish show, it’s conceivable that the future is now. And with Reigns and Breakker on the same brand, a partnership between the professionals of the two best spears in the business may be on the horizon.

And that could spell disaster for Cody Rhodes in Wrestlemania.
