New security footage shows Chris Young was aggressively shoved by an officer in the Nashville bar altercation in which he was arrested, apparently contradicting the officer’s version of events.
The country star is punched so violently by the special agent that he falls backwards onto a DawgHouse Saloon bar stool in the video, which is shown from three angles.
Young, 38, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, assaulting an officer and resisting arrest after allegedly “punching” an officer Monday night.
Authorities said four Alcoholic Beverage Commission agents were checking another bar, Tin Roof, when they first encountered the singer, who then followed them to DawgHouse before assaulting one of them.
But surveillance video appears to tell a different story, prompting Young’s attorney, Bill Ramsey, to demand an apology and for the charges to be dropped.

The first clip of the footage shows Young, dressed in a black leather jacket, jeans and a cap, standing near the bar as the four officers walk past him toward the exit.
Young, the 2006 Nashville Star winner, extends his arm, appearing to block the first officer’s path, but does not touch him, and the officer responds by pushing him so hard that he falls backwards.
The fall is so dramatic that several people sitting at the bar jump out of their seats and approach the Gettin’ You Home singer to check on him.
Another camera angle, taken from behind Young, shows him landing on his back on the edge of the bar before falling to the floor. A bar stool collapses with him.
Young quickly gets up and walks away from the officers with his hands raised in a gesture of surrender. An officer steps between Young and the other officers in an apparent gesture of peacekeeping.
The Famous Friends singer was arrested shortly after, something his lawyer says should never have happened.
“What happened to my client Chris Young at a bar in Nashville on Monday night was wrong and he should never have been arrested and charged in the first place,” Ramsey told DailyMail.com.
“In light of the video evidence, Tennessee ABC must drop the charges and apologize for the physical, emotional and professional harm caused to my client.”
Events leading up to the arrest began around 8:30 p.m., when Alcoholic Beverage Commission agents were completing a compliance check at Tin Roof, a bar on Demonbreun Street in Midtown Nashville, and encountered the singer.
After verifying their identification, Young, known for a string of number one hits and winning the reality show Nashville Star, allegedly followed the officers and asked them questions before recording them with his camera.
When officers went to the next bar, DawgHouse, to continue their identification checks, Young followed with his group of people as the confrontation developed.
The star then attempted to stop the officers from leaving by reaching out and allegedly “punching” one of the officers, according to the affidavit.
“As I walked out the door, Mr. Young extended his hands to stop me from leaving the bar and punched me in the shoulder,” the affidavit states.
“I then pressured Mr. Young to create distance, as I had no idea who Mr. Young was or what he had.”
Young reportedly began walking backwards and refused to comply with the officers, causing them to handcuff him.
The affidavit claims the country singer was slurring his words while his eyes were bloodshot and watery.
After Young’s disorderly behavior at the bar, the atmosphere became “hostile,” according to the report.
The country star had performed at another Nashville bar, the Bootleggers Inn, on Friday, January 19.
He later uploaded a video to TikTok of his performance at the nightlife establishment.
Young was the winner of the fourth season of the television show Nashville Star in 2006.
Since then he rose to fame with hits such as Drinkin’ Me Lonely and You’re Gonna Love Me.
He was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and earned one of country music’s biggest accomplishments by becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2017.
Young is preparing to release an 18-track album, Young Love & Saturday Nights, which will be the most ambitious project of his 18-year career.
