Cyndi Lauper’s troubled son avoided a weekend at Rikers after allegedly being caught with a gun when his actor father posted his bail with cash.

Lauper’s husband and “Law & Order” actor David Thornton casually spent several minutes at a courthouse teller window with an attorney when he removed $20,000 in cash from a white envelope to post bail after His rapper son, Declan “Dex” Lauper, was indicted on weapons charges following a shooting in Harlem on Wednesday night.

Footage showed Thornton carrying several $100 bills stacked on a brick, which was later confirmed by a court source.

Thornton, who also appeared in “The Notebook,” was flanked by a man wearing an earpiece as he sat inside the courtroom.

Prosecutors alleged that Lauper, 28, and another man took an Uber ride from Queens to 135th West 112th St. when the driver allegedly heard them say, “It’s already sold.”

That’s when the rapper’s car was surrounded by five armed individuals and a shot was fired, hitting Lauper’s partner in the leg, prosecutors alleged.

He was allegedly seen wearing a black fanny pack with white writing and asked for offers to retrieve a blue bag from his trip, so the other man’s mother could pick it up at a tobacco shop.

But when police followed Lauper into the store, they noticed blood on her shoe and found a gun in her black fanny pack, prosecutors said.

Another weapon was found at the location where the victim was shot, according to the criminal complaint.

“The defendant and the individual detained separately drove to the location with firearms to engage in what appears to be unlawful activity,” Deputy District Attorney Harriet Jiranek said in court.

Law enforcement sources said drugs were also found on Lauper at the time of his arrest, so he was not charged.

Prosecutors were asking for $50,000 cash bail, but Lauper’s attorney, Steven Brill, defended their decision to release him without bail, explaining that Lauper has been working with a personal advisor to point him in the right “direction.”

“My point in highlighting this is that you have another layer of supervision that he is engaged in private so that they will see him and be there for him when he is released during the pendency of this case,” Brill said.

Brill added that Lauper is “a victim of a crime, not a perpetrator” and that the evidence will show that he was “really in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Judge Pamela Goldsmith set bail at $20,000 cash after becoming concerned that Lauper was caught with a gun at the tobacco store.

Cyndi Lauper was not present at her troubled son’s court appearance.

In 2022, Declyn Lauper reached a plea deal and avoided jail time when he was arrested for stealing a Mercedes in front of another rapper’s monument.

A judge ordered him to complete five days of community service and stay out of trouble for a year.

After his father posted bail, Lauper, the son of the legendary “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” singer, celebrated his release from jail by proclaiming his freedom.

“Positive energy equals positive results,” he said on a Manhattan street.

“The king of New York is out on bail!”

Meanwhile, his father remained silent when asked about his son’s alleged behavior.

Lauper is due back in court on February 13.
