SAN LUIS OBISPO, California (KSEE/KGPE) – Actor Danny Masterson, best known for his role on “That ’70s Show,” has been transferred to a state prison in San Luis Obispo, according to state officials.
When he was first sent to state prison to serve his sentence for two rape convictions late last year, Masterson He was housed inside the North Kern State Prison. According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Masterson, 47, is now housed at the California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo.
In September 2023, Masterson was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole for two counts of rape with force, violence or fear of bodily injury, authorities say. The star was convicted of two of the three rape charges he faced.
Prosecutors say both incidents occurred at Masterson’s Hollywood-area home in 2003, when he was at the peak of his fame due to the success of “That ’70s Show.”
On its website, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation describes the California Men’s Colony (CMC) prison as “committed to providing its inmate population with significant rehabilitative resources to ensure that men leaving CMC have the opportunity to re-enter.” to society as peaceful and productive citizens.”
Masterson is eligible for parole in June 2042.
