From acting delighted in a regal and mesmerizing purple dress to Taylor Swift reflecting on her family ties, Day 1 of the Singapore Eras Tour began on a healthy note. The Cruel Summer sorceress will perform on her only Southeast Asian tour stop for six nights before a two-month hiatus. Hugging the National Stadium crowd, the 14-time Grammy winner took extra time to detail as Singapore held a special place in her heart.
A video taken by a fan showed her opening up: “My mom spent a lot of her childhood with her mom, dad and sister while growing up in Singapore.” Recalling old family memories of her, she revealed that her mother would drive her to her old house every time she went on tour. She has practically heard these Singapore stories “her whole life”. Opening her heart to the audience, she expressed her love to her fans.
“I love old and new friends exactly the same amount. Whether you’ve been a fan for fifteen seconds or fifteen years, I’m glad you wanted to spend the evening here with us,” Taylor added, welcoming all of his fans with open arms.

Surprise songs/mixes from the Singapore Eras Tour: Revisiting the much-loved trend of her surprise combinations, Swift tuned into some unexpected hits from the past. The Blast to the Past had her mixing Mine (Speak Now – Taylor’s Version) with Starlight (Red – Taylor’s Version) on guitar. As for the second acoustic turn, she turned to the piano and played the mixed fusion of I Do n’t Wanna Live Forever (Fifty Shades Darker OST) and Dress (Reputation). She chose to rock out in the same iconic yellow dress that she donned on several occasions during the Eras Tour.

Taylor Swift store closes: While the Fearless singer continued her stellar performances, her online store hit rock bottom. Fans who tried to access it hit a dead end, leaving many to wonder if it was simply overloaded with too many real-time clients or if they should prepare for a new announcement.
Taylor Swift Instagram Live: The All Too Well singer livestreamed her surprise performance of the song. Titled ‘A Message from the Department’ with a black heart, the Instagram live surprised her fans as they held their breath, waiting to hear a new revelation. Some associated the black heart emoji with the possible ‘Rep TV’ ad (Reputation – Taylor Version). Others correlated it with the release of another physical album variant for The Tortured Poets Department, scheduled for release on April 19, 2024. The latter also made sense to many Swifties, considering that Taylor’s online store was also Out of service.
However, for better or worse, none of these hypotheses came to fruition. The “meeting was suspended” and the live broadcast ended after the surprise performance of the mashup. Fans were even more perplexed and took X (formerly Twitter) by storm with tweets like: “Our president left without any announcement.”
