New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police has issued two traffic advisories for two separate key events scheduled in the national capital on Sunday and Monday, informing the public about diversions and restrictions to be implemented in various parts of the southern, central and northern areas. of Delhi. The first event that will start around 4 am on Sunday is the 43rd National Marathon Championships, the 9th edition of the New Delhi Marathon and the qualifying series for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The second event is the annual Ijtema at Shahi Idgah , in north Delhi, which will begin on Sunday night and conclude around 11 am on Monday.

The first event to be conducted by the Delhi Athletics Association (DAA) with the support of NEB Sports after the approval of the Athletics Federation of India will close from gate number 1 of the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (JLN) at 4.15 am Sunday. There will be three different events (marathon and national half marathon, 10 km race and 5 km race) for which different routes have been defined. The two marathons will start from gate number 1 of the stadium and conclude at the same point after participants run towards Janpath and Jaswant Singh roundabout in central Delhi via C-Hexagon and Kartavya Path.

The 10km run will start from JLN Stadium West Block till reaching The Blind School, Mathura Road and returning to the same location. Likewise, the 5 kilometer route will start from the west block of the stadium until reaching the Aurobindo Marg junction and returning to the same west block of the stadium.

According to the traffic police notice, the movement of vehicles on the race routes will be regulated from 4:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Sunday. However, the uninterrupted circulation of emergency vehicles will be facilitated. Cross vehicle movement will be permitted at route junctions depending on the location and density of participants, according to the advisory:
