The summer of 2024 will be special for football fans around the world. While everyone is excited about the European Championships in Germany, this year the Summer Olympics will be held in Paris.
To that end, Real Madrid has already made headlines recently by reportedly refusing to allow Kylian Mbappé to participate in this summer’s Olympics.
In fact, Real Madrid has also not granted permission to play to other French players, including Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and Ferland Mendy.

In a recent interaction with the media, Didier Deschamps spoke about Real Madrid’s decision to not allow its French players to participate in the Olympics.
As expected, the French national team coach made a witty comment, highlighting Florentino Pérez.

Thierry Henry on Real Madrid’s position
Even France under-21 coach Thierry Henry agreed with Deschamps’ comments and stated (h/t RMC sport), “It has always been like this. She knew how difficult it was going to be. She suspected it. “It is completely normal, especially in foreign clubs.”
“It’s the Olympic Games here in France, I think the French clubs will be there to help. But in the case of foreign clubs, I suspected it.

The Frenchman added that he will try to convince clubs to release their players, stating: “We are going to try to talk and see what we can do. There are quite a few branches on the tree. We have to survey everyone. “Let’s see if we can receive them.”
Regarding the possibility of Mbappé missing the Olympic Games, he added: “We are going to do what is necessary at the club level. We know he is leaving (PSG). We are trying to form the best team. “Everyone wants to come but it is difficult.”
Real Madrid’s decision, for its part, is also quite logical, knowing that at least three of these four Frenchmen will participate with France in the Euro Cup.
