Dharmendra uses a ‘new name’ in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.
The opening credits of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya revealed that Dharmendra has changed his name.
Having made his acting debut in 1960, with Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere, we know him as Dharmendra. However, with the release of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, it was revealed that our beloved Dharam ji has made a big change in his name. Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya released in theaters today, February 9, in theaters. The film stars Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. The veteran actor plays the role of Shahid’s grandfather in the film. In the film he is known as Dada.
The opening credits revealed that Dharmendra decided to incorporate the middle name and last name he was given at birth. He has been credited as Dharmendra Singh Deol in the film. For the unversed, Dharmendra was born as Dharam Singh Deol, according to a Hindustan Times report.
Dharmendra was born in Punjab on December 8, 1935, to Kewal Kishan Singh Deol and Satwant Kaur. A report by Indian Express revealed that Dharmendra’s father was a director while his mother was a housewife. The actor grew up in the village of Sahnewal in Punjab before moving to Mumbai to pursue acting. When he entered the film industry, Dharmendra abandoned his middle name and his last name. However, when his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol entered the industry as actors, they chose to retain the family name.
On the work front, Dharmendra has frequently appeared on the big screen. He was seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani with Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. His performance was loved by everyone. The film directed by Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt was directed by Karan Johar. Dharmendra will now be seen in Ikkis with Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda. The film is directed by Sriram Raghavan. He also has Apne 2 in the pipeline. He is scheduled to reunite with Sunny Deol on the big screen with the film.
