Reportedly, Dharmendra is not against his daughter’s decision, but he strongly believes that the separation affects the children.
Days after Esha Deol announced her separation from husband Bharat Takhtani, it has now been reported that her father Dharmendra is “saddened” by her decision. If a recent report is to be believed, Dharmendra wants Esha to reconsider her decision to separate Bharat.
“No parent can be happy seeing how their children’s family is destroyed. Even Dharmendra ji is a father and one can understand his pain. It is not that he is against his daughter’s decision to separate, but rather that she needs to reconsider,” a source was quoted as saying by Bollywood Life.
The source argued that both Esha and Bharat are very close to Dharmendra. He further maintained that although the veteran actor is not against his daughter’s decision, he firmly believes that the separation affects the children. “He is really sad and that is the reason why he wants them to reconsider breaking up. Esha and Bharat have two daughters, Radhya and Miraya. They are very close to their paternal and maternal grandparents. The separation badly affects the children and hence Dharamji feels that if the marriage can be saved, they should do so,” the source added.
Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani got married in 2012, but announced their separation earlier this month, that is, after 11 years of being together. The two issued a joint statement and revealed that they have decided to part ways “mutually and amicably.” “We have mutually and amicably decided to separate. Through this change in our lives, the best interests and well-being of our two children is and will be of utmost importance to us. We would appreciate if our privacy is respected,” her statement read. The two are parents to daughters Radhya and Miraya, who are six and four years old respectively.
Earlier, another Zoom report claimed that Esha and Bharat’s divorce did not surprise anyone in the family because it was “brewing for a while.” He further informed that Esha’s mother and veteran actress Hema Malini supports her daughter’s decision and does not want to talk about it.
