Ed Westwick has asked Amy Jackson the question.
The Gossip Girl star, 36, got down on one knee in G’staad, Switzerland, as he asked the Bollywood actress, 31, to be his wife in front of a crowd of onlookers.
Taking to Instagram to share the news, the couple shared a series of sweet photos together, captioning the images: “Hell yeah (ring emoji).”
Ed played anti-hero and playboy Chuck Bass in the hit American drama Gossip Girl and fans were quick to joke that Chuck was finally calming down.
The university professor’s son, who grew up in Stevenage, Herts, met Amy, 31, a Bollywood star with a four-year-old son from an ex-boyfriend, at Silverstone Racecourse in 2021.
A source told The Sun on Sunday at the time: ‘Ed and Amy are a very good couple. They hit it off immediately.
‘They both like to have fun and are motivated by their career. They are enjoying getting to know each other for now.
The couple became Instagram official just before Valentine’s Day 2022, and Amy wrote a sweet note on her social media just in time for the occasion.
She wrote: “Happy Valentine’s Day baby, forever grateful for the endless laughter and ultimate love!”
Last year, the couple moved into a new house and stayed busy with renovations.
“We have a new place in the countryside, just outside London,” he told the Daily Mail of his move from the capital.
“I’m decorating the house right now. I’m a bit of an interior designer.”
Speaking about Amy, he added: “Things are wonderful, she’s my best friend.”
‘She’s a great mother, all those things you want me to see with my mom and dad. I hope I can have my version.”
Last year, when asked about prospects for marriage and children in an interview with Hello! magazine, Ed said: ‘Yes! Hundred percent. I grew up in a wonderful home where my mom and dad were married.
‘My parents loved each other intensely until the end. I idolized them and their relationship. That kind of support!
The actor went on to explain that his father died 10 years ago and his mother passed away in September 2022.
Ed’s mother died of mesothelioma, a type of cancer caused by asbestos.
The star said that while she can’t talk to her parents, she knows she is still there with them.
‘I remember his hands or his shoulders, which I touched. I have her voice notes and video clips of her,’ he added.
“I miss her so much, but I try to think about the future to stay positive, like marriage, kids and all that.”
Amy was previously in a relationship with hotelier George Panayiotou, and the couple got engaged in January 2019 and welcomed a son in September.
They broke up in 2021, before her relationship with Ed began later that year. The son of the model and the hotelier, named Andreas, is now four years old.
Amy has starred in a number of Indian films, predominantly in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu, after auditioning for one in London in a twist of fate.
Ed was previously dating South African model and influencer Tamara Francesconi for two years, before the couple split in 2021.
He is best known for playing the troubled but lovable Chuk Bass on Gossip Girl, a character known for drinking and hanging out with girls like fellow St. Jude student Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester).
After the show ended in 2012, it was rebooted with a new cast, and Ed confessed that he would be more than happy to reprise his role if he was picked up.
Unfortunately, the series was canceled after two seasons.
The original show followed the lives of privileged teenagers attending an exclusive private school in Manhattan and the mysterious blogger who anonymously revealed their scandalous secrets.
“I’m amazed and crazy to have been a part of something so big,” Ed confessed. “It was a big part of my life back then and it still is, and now with the reboot, a whole generation will be able to enjoy it.”
