Elle King Postpones Friday Show in What Would Have Been Her First Appearance Since Sloppy Grand Ol’ Opry Concert – Deadline

Singer Elle King postponed a show scheduled for Fort Worth, Texas, this Friday. It would have been her first show since her controversial performance at a Dolly Parton tribute at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on January 19.

During that performance, King told the audience that she was “beaten up” and appeared to slur her words on stage. She also forgot her words several times and cursed, the latter a big no-no for the serious Opry.

Billy Bob’s place in Texas announced through social networks On Wednesday the show was postponed eight months, until September 21. “Original event tickets will be accepted for the new date,” the announcement said. “Refunds are available at the point of purchase. Thank you for your understanding!” No further details were provided.

The Grand Ole Opry apologized for the Jan. 19 incident on social media. “We deeply regret and apologize for the language used during the second Opry performance last night,” the venue said. “For our first time on The Opry, it was a shame that we all had to witness that.”

King also fought New Year’s Eve live: Nashville’s big party. Before performing your song Drunk (and I don’t want to go home), King then said, “Okay, I live what I sing, y’all,” and seemed to slur his words during that performance.

So far, the star has not commented on future plans. He has shows scheduled for next month and into October.
