Elmo reveals widespread angst and misery on social media

Elmo asked how everyone was doing on social media. Elmo should have known what he was getting himself into.


The official Elmo account posted a simple question on X (formerly Twitter): “Elmo is just signing up! How’s everybody?



It seems like the entire world has been waiting a long time for the chance to let off steam with their favorite red Muppet, who is canonically three years old. Thousands and thousands of responses (some ironic, some serious) lamented tragedies large and small, from layoffs to divorces to heartbreaking football defeats. The vast majority were united by fatigue and melancholy.


“Elmo, I’m going to be real. I’m at my fucking limit.” wrote a userwho received almost half a million likes for his response.


“Elmo, every day, the abyss we contemplate takes on a unique horror. one that was previously unfathomable in nature. our inevitable doom, which once accelerated in years or months, now accelerates in hours, even minutes,” said another. answered. “However, I had a good grapefruit before, thanks for asking.”

Several notable celebrities joined in on the fun (or lack thereof).

“I’m just looking for someone to talk to and show me some love, if you know what I mean.” answered T-Pain.


“‘We have problems’ =)”, saying Dr. Phil, apparently taking the opportunity to promote his new book.


“I’m fine. I would do better if I had some cookies! wrote Cookie Monster, Elmo’s co-worker.


Out of thousands of responses, only one person on Earth seemed okay: Chance the Rapper. “Honestly, I’m in a really good place,” he said. saying.


Later, Elmo followed up with some kind words for all Elmo fans. “Wow! Elmo is glad he asked! Elmo wrote on Elmo’s emotional.”
