Actress Erin Moriarty detailed the “verbal abuse” she has experienced since Megyn Kelly made comments on her SiriusXM show about Moriarty’s appearance and accused her of undergoing plastic surgery.

Moriarty, 29, wrote in a long instagram post that she was coming off “one of the most challenging weeks of my life” when she received “a message about a disgustingly false and counterproductive to the point of being ironically misogynistic video of Megyn Kelly” commenting on her weight and facial structure.

Moriarty, who stars in the Amazon Prime Video series “The Boys,” said he expected “verbal abuse” and “accusations” when he returned to the spotlight “10 pounds thinner,” but that the abuse hurled at him since the comments Kelly “has diminished.” “I horrified her.”

In a January 17 episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Kelly compared an old photo of Moriarty, which Kelly said was taken last year, to a more recent one and accused her of deciding to “completely change her face” with plastic surgery.

Moriarty said in her Instagram post that the first photo is from almost a decade ago, before she was “of legal drinking age.”

“It’s appalling how completely misinformed, inaccurate and click-seeking people we follow and consider informed,” Moriarty said.

Referring to the second photo Kelly showed, Moriarty said she had put on makeup that day, which “involves heavy contouring and I remember going out and feeling pretty. And even that day was immensely stressful for me.”

The comments that followed, “scathing enough for me to simply disable my comments,” descended into “harassment” and “fake news,” Moriarty wrote.

Moriarty said the only reason he didn’t decide to deactivate his Instagram account is so the post responding to Kelly’s comments can remain. She said she won’t have access to him for the time being, perhaps permanently. Using her account, he said, never came naturally to her, but it gave him the opportunity to connect with her fans and share updates about her.

“I am appalled by the backlash, the reductionist assumptions, and the aforementioned video being a prime example of such harassment,” Moriarty wrote. “You’ve broken my heart. You’ve broken my heart. You’ve lost the privilege of this account.”

He said the videos were “absolutely false” and there was “no excuse” for the way he was spoken to or treated.

“Shame on you, Megyn Kelly,” Moriarty concluded. “Insinuating that my photo reflects that women are in a worse place is as false as my belief in saying that if you resign, you would leave women in a better place.”

Kelly’s representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Moriarty’s Instagram post that was sent outside of normal business hours.
