EXCLUSIVE: Kartik Aaryan, Sajid Nadiadwala and Vishal Bhardwaj team up in a big action thriller

Over the years, Sajid Nadiadwala has become a brand by producing films of all genres, be it action, comedy, romance, thriller or drama and the producer is all set to bring several films to the stage during the next year. While Chandu Champion, directed by Kabir Khan and featuring Kartik Aaryan, is set to release on June 14, Sajid recently roped in AR Murugadoss for a large-scale action entertainer with Salman Khan. And now, Pinkvilla has exclusively learned that the producer has given the green light to an action film with Vishal Bhardwaj, which one will star Kartik Aaryan to the head.

Kartik Aaryan to appear in Vishal Bhardwaj’s action film

“After Chandu Champion, Kartik has been discussing another film with Sajid Nadiadwala. It is a big budget action thriller directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. The film has been in the writing phase for the past few months and will be the director’s most ambitious project. Preparation work has begun and the idea is to take it to floors in the second half of 2024,” revealed a source close to the development.

The source further added that it is a proper action thriller with a budget of Rs 150 crore and will hit the big screen in 2025. “After exploring comedy and drama, this would mark Kartik’s foray into the action space . She focused on a certain fitness regime for Chandu Champion and is now pivoting his career towards the action genre as well,” the source added.

Kartik is currently filming Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee, and the yet-untitled action thriller is expected to be next after the horror-comedy. Apart from the two films, Kartik is also talking about Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 with Bhushan Kumar, which is also targeted to release later this year. Kartik is also making a film set against the backdrop of the Indian Army with Karan Johar as producer, which will be directed by Night Manager Fame, Sandeep Modi.

“Kartik wraps up Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 in June 2024 as the film aims to release in Diwali 2024. If everything goes as planned, Vishal Bhardwaj’s film could be the next one to flop for him,” the source concluded. Vishal Bhardwaj last directed Khufiya for Netflix and the yet-untitled actioner will be his first film since directing 2018’s Pataakha.
