‘Facts of Life’ Stars Reunite on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’

The stars of “The Facts of Life” came together to surprise Drew Barrymore on her birthday.

Lisa Whelchel, Nancy McKeon and Mindy Cohn stopped by “The Drew Barrymore Show” to celebrate the host’s 49th birthday on February 22.

“Oh my gosh, do you know what a gift this is to everyone? I mean, you are our life!” an excited Barrymore told the actors, who presented her with an authentic monogrammed bag from the cast and crew of “The Facts of Life” filled with baked treats.

Barrymore, a self-proclaimed “The Facts of Life” superfan, revealed how much the series, which aired from 1979 to 1988 on NBC, helped shape her life.

“I think for those of us who also didn’t grow up in a traditional mother-and-father or two-parent home, and I love my mom and my dad; “I love our dynamic, I wouldn’t change a thing, but I saw myself with you because you were raising yourselves, you were raising each other, and Ms. Garrett was in charge of that,” he said, adding “It made the most sense for the life I was living than any other environment.

Watching “The Facts of Life,” Barrymore said, taught her to be self-sufficient and also to cultivate friendships.

“What I was learning was to be a strong, independent woman who could take care of herself and value female friendship and know that there was someone there to take care of them, Mrs. Garrett,” she said.

“You gave me a role model that made my life better in every sense of the word,” he added.

Barrymore’s ‘Facts of Life’ reunion comes more than two years after Whelchel, Cohn and Fields showed up Reenactment of ABC’s “Live in Front of a Studio Audience” from a 1982 episode of his sitcom in December 2021.
