Fighter witnessed a “phenomenal leap” at the box office, sweeping $41.20 crore on the second day of its release, the makers said on Saturday. The film has been praised for its patriotic fervor, which may explain its jump at the box office on Republic Day.
However, it seems that Fighter has not been able to maintain his momentum into the weekend. But his collection is likely to increase on Sunday.
Directed by Siddharth Anand of Pathaan and war fame, the film is presented as a tribute to the bravery, sacrifice and patriotism of the Indian armed forces. It opened in theaters on Thursday. The fighter had won $24.60 hours on the day of its inauguration.
“The film’s momentum only increased, as the second day witnessed a phenomenal leap, adding $41.20 crores to the collection and achieving a total of $65.80 crores,” read a press release from the makers.
