Speaking of Fighter, film trader Sumit Kadel tweeted: “Monday’s Fighter crash has shocked both the trade and the industry. Nobody expected it to drop so much on Monday. The central B and C audience were not very supportive of the film after Friday and they did not appear in theaters on Monday. Shocking and worrying trend for the industry. First Tiger 3, then Dunki, and now Fighter: they were all strong contenders for HGOTY (highest grosser of the year)!!

As an actor I don’t cross any lines. At the same time I admire that Sid (Siddharth Anand) is a very, very stubborn filmmaker. It is his conviction. Sometimes you see someone so convinced and it breaks your heart to turn down the power and say no. I also bear the weight of that because he is finally my face. But I’m very, very happy that it landed as entertainment and nothing more than that. I’m really relieved about that. That being said, I still carry the weight.”
