Fighter Box Office Collection Day 7: Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s film fails to recover on its seventh day since its release on January 25 and continues to fall further at the domestic box office. According to the first estimates on Sacnilk.com, the film won around $6.35 crore nett in India on Wednesday, which is $1.15 crore less than what the film had earned on Tuesday, when it collected $7.5 crores nett. According to the portal, Fighter’s total earnings are now $140.35 crore nett in India in the first week. The film recorded an overall occupancy of 11.89 per cent on Wednesday.
The film had a promising premiere and earned $118.5 crores in its first weekend. However, on Monday, the film unexpectedly recorded a single-figure gross of $8 crores and continued to fall every day. However, the film is doing better at the international box office.
Fighter in India vs abroad
The surprising box office performance of Fighter has left film insiders worried about the film industry. Taran Adarsh recently tweeted: ‘FIGHTER’ shocks India, shocks abroad… Fighter’s poor performance has sent shockwaves within the industry… Imagine, the film ticks all the boxes, from names of stars and directorial credentials to tremendous critical acclaim and positive audience feedback. …However, the dwindling numbers in #India come as a complete surprise.”
He added: “Facing a setback early in the year is really worrying. That said, while the numbers witness a downward trend in #India, business in key international markets remains strong, *even midweek.” . …Markets like #US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand (NZ) are still holding firm, even after a great weekend. Wrestler is directed by Siddharth Anand. It stars Hrithik and Deepika Padukone alongside Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi. The film was released a day before Republic Day 2024. It received mixed to positive reviews from fans and critics.
