The box office numbers of ‘Fighter,’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, experienced a notable drop on its sixth day of release. After a dip in numbers on its first Monday, the film continued its downward trend on Tuesday, clocking an advance collection of Rs 24 lakh, according to early estimates published on Sacnilk.com.
Despite the expected decline during the work week, ‘Fighter’ was expected to maintain its position at the box office due to the considerable hype surrounding the film. Director Siddharth Anand had announced over the weekend that the film had crossed the 100 crore mark during its first extended weekend.

The patriotic action drama, released Thursday before ’75 Republic Day, reported an estimated collection of Rs 30.20 crore on Sunday, taking the four-day weekend total to Rs 123.60 crore. The film earned Rs 24.60 crore on its opening day, witnessed growth on the second day with a collection of Rs 41.20 crore and maintained stable figures with Rs 27.60 crore on the third day. With positive buzz, ‘Fighter’ collected Rs 30.20 crore on the fourth day.

Trade reports indicated that the film earned an estimated Rs 8 crore on Monday, taking its total collection to Rs 126 crore. The film’s performance on Tuesday remains to be seen, but going by the current trend, it is expected to cross the Rs 150 crore mark in its second weekend.

Internationally, ‘Fighter’ has easily surpassed the 200 crore mark. Released in 23 territories, the film posted a $24.5 million weekend worldwide, with $20.8 million grossed in international territories. Including Thursday’s figures, the film achieved a cumulative worldwide gross of $25.1 million, according to ComScore data.

In North America, ‘Fighter’ grossed $3.7 million over the three-day weekend and $4.3 million over the four-day weekend.
‘Fighter’ revolves around Indian Air Force and represents Indian conflicts with Pakistan. The film’s global collections were hampered in part due to the film’s ban in the Middle East, which is a huge market for Indian films.
