NEW DELHI: After recovering from a quadriceps injury, batsman KL Rahul is expected to return for the fourth Test against England, which begins in Ranchi on February 23.

According to a source, Rahul, who missed the second and third Tests due to right quadriceps pain, was 90 per cent fit last week.

“He is reaching match fitness and should be available for Ranchi Test,” a BCCI source said.

Before being sidelined by the same injury he suffered during the Indian Premier League last year, Rahul was one of India’s best batsmen in the first Test match in Hyderabad.

After a four-month break, Rahul has performed considerably well for India across all formats.

In the two-Test series that ended in a draw in South Africa in December, Rahul was India’s only centurion.
