Prithvi Shaw is all set to make a comeback. The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has included him in their Ranji team.

The decision comes after he received clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA), which deemed him fit for competitive cricket. Consequently, Shaw has joined the Ajinkya Rahane-led team, and they will take on Bengal at Eden Gardens from February 2.

Shaw, 24, has been out since August of the previous year due to a knee ligament injury.

On January 20, Cricbuzz reported on the delay in Shaw’s return to action as the NCA wanted to put him through a higher workload to test his readiness.

The NCA had informed the MCA, stating: “Prithvi Shaw is progressing well in his batting and fielding drills. He will undergo increased volumes of acceleration, change of direction and agility drills over the next 3 weeks to develop the strength needed to your injured knee ligament before returning to sports.

On Wednesday, the NCA granted him clearance to participate in the Ranji Trophy. With the inclusion of Shaw, Mumbai will have a 17-member traveling team.

Mumbai currently leads the Elite Group B Ranji points table with 20 points from four games, with three wins and one loss.

Mumbai Team: Ajinkya Rahane (captain), Shivam Dube, Prithvi Shaw, Jay Bista, Bhupen Lalwani, Amogh Bhatkal. Suved Parkar, Prasad Pawar (WK), Hardik Tamore (WK), Suryansh Shedge, Tanush Kotian, Atharva Ankolekar, Aditya Dhumal, Mohit Awasthi, Dhaval Kulkarni, Roystan Dias and Sylvester Dsouza.
